DESPISE NOT THE WORD OF TRUTH

The hour is upon us when THE TRUTH despised will arise and judge the Church.

Hearts and minds that have disregarded THE TRUTH will return but THE TRUTH will have withdrawn.

Even in the place where, and the season when, the light of revelation shines with brilliance, those who have been judged will remain in darkness. Only a few will find the way of return - a way of brokenness and sorrow.

THE TRUTH must not be viewed as words or ideas. THE TRUTH is the Word, once flesh, and now the living utterance of God.

Did not THE TRUTH prophesy, "To everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away."?

Where there is no doing, there has been no hearing. And where there is no having, there is no holding. To hear and not to do is but to observe.

To observe is passive, but to hear is active.

Hearing THE TRUTH demands the absolute obedience of every part of the heart, mind, and body.

The heart that offers itself to hear THE TRUTH will embrace the reward of abundance!

JEREMIAH WARRIORS!

The Holy Spirit has been directing me to challenge the Church to claim the Prophet Jeremiah's mandate (Jeremiah 1:10). With this mandate comes the responsibility to use the powerful weapons of the Word and Prayer to wage war in the spiritual domain over our city (Ephesians 612).
We are called to "root out" principalities and to "pull down" powers and rulers; to "destroy" spiritual hosts of wickedness and to "throw down" the works of darkness; to "build" and to "plant" the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ!

Thanking God for Protection!

I was involved in a serious auto accident Saturday evening. We are thanking God that neither I nor my driver, Pastor Isaac, experienced any injuries. Another car swerved across the highway and hit us just about head on. Both cars were totally wrecked. I had just finished the final teaching session and powerful ministry time at our annual Men's Retreat and we were traveling back to Toronto. The Lord must have assigned His angels to protect us! The police investigating officers were shaking their heads in disbelief that neither of us were hurt.

WINDS OF CHANGE!

The winds of change continued to blow this past week. Dramatic changes to the political landscape like we have experienced in Toronto have also happened throughout the United States. The political prognosticators and pundits offer their best explanations but most are “looking through a darkened glass”. Most of their observations are simply an analysis of the reflections of their own images.
The perceptive disciple of the Lord Jesus views such events through a different lens than others. We recognize clearly that God is at work. We understand that the words spoken by the people of God have indeed initiated action in the Heavens. The Spirit of the Lord our God has responded to our desires and decrees and caused an extraordinary shifting.
The blowing wind has not only changed the landscape, it has brought a new spiritual atmosphere. Now is the time to sow into this new day. Now is the time to broaden and intensify our actions for the Kingdom of Christ! It is time to witness with greater boldness, to praise and worship with greater passion, to pray with greater faith, to decree with greater authority, to give with greater measure, to walk with greater confidence, to claim with greater insistence, and to dream with greater vision.
I am instructed by the Holy Spirit to declare that now is the time to –
“ASK” for new things!
(things you thought you could not have)
“SEEK” in new places!
(places you thought you could not go)
“KNOCK” on new doors!
(doors you thought you could not enter)

An Open Letter

To the Church at EVANGEL TEMPLE

I have had the delight and honour to be at Evangel Temple for about 7 months. So many wonderful and exciting things have happened. God is certainly blessing us as we are embracing a new day. The purpose of this letter is to outline some of the things that we will step into as we continue to move forward. What a wonderful day we are in and what wonderful days are just ahead!

SMALL GROUPS
I am fully aware of the significant value of “small groups” within our community of believers. Encouragement, support, and friendship are among the multitude of obvious benefits. Small groups can also provide a non-believer a warm, personal introduction to Christian faith and fellowship.
I am convinced the Holy Spirit is directing us to refocus and renew this area of ministry. The following information will describe the changes that we will be implementing as we move forward –
A new name – eLIFE
The “e” represents EVANGEL. Our small groups will carry the spiritual DNA of our church (which is the Spirit of Christ) into a wide variety of settings.
LIFE refers to the four basic components of our small group gatherings – Learning, Intercession, Fellowship, and Evangelism
A new point of reference – Affinity
Geographic location will no longer be the primary point of reference for small groups. eLIFE groups will be established around a common affinity or common interest. In time, our eLIFE groups will reflect a multitude of activities and interests. Additional areas of commonality may include age, gender, or culture. Quite simply, no two eLIFE groups will look exactly alike!
I encourage you to begin to pray about your involvement in eLIFE groups. You may also wish to consider the kind of eLIFE group of which you would like to be a part.
Watch for further announcements in the coming weeks as we continue to wait on the Lord for continued specific direction in establishing and introducing eLIFE.


WEBSITE
Thanks to the generous assistance of a capable member of Evangel, a new upgraded, redesigned, and contemporary website is nearing completion. Websites are the first place that many will look when “checking out” churches in our city. We are excited to know that our website will be informative and attractive to those who are looking for a place to experience the life-changing power of Jesus.


DAY CARE
We have begun to move forward in gathering information and investigating implications of establishing a Day Care at Evangel Temple. Such an outreach has the potential of providing greatly needed assistance to the multitudes that live and work in our immediate area. Please pray for wisdom and favour as we pursue the possibilities of this venture.


BUILDING EXPANSION
The expansion of our present facilities would be a basic requirement for the development of a financially viable Day Care. Increased building space would also facilitate continued growth and development of ministries focused on evangelism and discipleship. The addition of another floor/floors above our present building (excluding the Sanctuary) would accommodate necessary classroom and meeting spaces. The additional space would also provide room to relocate the present offices thus opening space on the main floor for an enlarged entrance, Nursery, and Bookstore (and perhaps Café)!


MEDIA MINISTRY
We are in the process of upgrading some components of our audio-visual equipment. These upgrades are necessary to prepare and provide excellent digital recordings of the ministry at Evangel. With the completion of these upgrades, we will be able to move toward making our ministry available in several areas of media.


SOME UPCOMING EVENTS!
MOTHER’S DAY (May 9)
Pastor Jan Beesley, (my Sweetheart and our First Lady!) will preach a special and anointed Word on this special day.

SPRING RAIN (May 28) - a time of fresh release of the mighty Presence of Jesus through praise and worship
Minister Valerie Harris, a noted worship leader, Psalmist, and musician from Birmingham, Alabama will be joining us for the day. Valerie will be joining Pastor Dawson and Kindred Spirits to lead us into Heavenly places in both the morning and an evening service. The evening service will be “AN EVENING OF WORSHIP”. I am expecting a heavy downpour of the showers of God’s blessings!

ALL CHURCH BARBQUE (June 13)
A great time of fellowship for everyone following the morning worship celebration.

WATOTO CHILDREN’S CHOIR (June 26) – a Sunday morning concert with the world-renowned choir of Ugandan orphans
Representing one of the most effective and excellent ministries on the continent of Africa, the Watoto Choirs have sung around the world in places as varied as parliaments and palaces, the White House and Ronald MacDonald House, sanctuaries and schools, television networks and national airports, conferences and concerts, and on and on! I am absolutely thrilled to welcome these precious children representing a ministry that Pastor Jan and I have known and with whom we have been associated for 14 years. Come early to get a seat. Be prepared to have your heart taken out and enlarged before it is put back!

RISING 2010 (July 27-Aug 1) – an indoor summer camp meeting with Heaven-sent, Spirit-empowered, prophetically-gifted, apostolically-anointed, world-renowned ministries!
Bishop Michael Pitts (Toledo, Ohio), Bishop Mark Chironna (Orlando, Florida), Pastor John Raymer (Ottawa, Ontario), and Higher Ground will join me in a team effort to bring a never-to-be-forgotten message and ministry to Evangel Temple and the city of Toronto. Mark these dates NOW in your calendar. The Glory of the latter House is about to be revealed!!

Mission Haiti

I am traveling to Port au Prince, Haiti tomorrow. Friends who are there tell me that I will be greeted at the airport by chaos. This should be interesting! I covet your prayers for health and safety during my 2 days there

Be Encouraged!

The Word of the Lord instructs me to speak this word of encouragement to YOU today! "Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings." (Isa 3:10) Your righteous acts will bring a sure and certain reward! Believe it! Declare it! Expect it!

Sunday Report!

What an awesome time we had in the House on the Lord’s Day!

What a powerful Word of encouragement and strong Word of caution the Holy Spirit gave us.

And what an anointed song we learned! We have indeed embraced the 3^rd Day and are moving forward with boldness and confidence. In the words of the song, “Anything can happen when we agree.”

I had planned to preach a full message on “The Ax, The Fire, and The Fan” (concerning the work of Jesus during the last days). However, just minutes before the service, the Lord Jesus spoke again to me and changed the emphasis. I am certainly willing it allow Him to change anything and everything at any time. In fact, if I refuse to follow His directives, then I have no right to call Him “Lord”.

Looking Back at our Looking Forward!

What an awesome time we had on New Year's Eve! A night of great rejoicing and celebration.
The excitement and joy could not be contained.
I am looking forward to Sunday morning. I have a specific Word from the Lord for our House.
We are positioned to enter into opportunities that have been prepared for us from the foundation of the earth.
The time is now!
The place is here!
Our finest hour is just beginning!
